Going in pairs makes the evening less bare. Double dating is a fun way to go out and have a good time with your significant other. It gives your date the opportunity to meet your friends and it also can provide a comfortable experience for someone who might be a little nervous to go out on a one-on-one date.
To start with, everyone must be comfortable about going on a double date. Once it is settled, double dating is an excellent idea if you want to meet someone new and you aren’t quite comfortable with being alone with them yet. You can invite a couple you know to come along too. This allows for you to be around people you are comfortable with while you are getting to know your date. Be sure to agree before hand how the bill is to be paid if any. This is to minimize any disagreement or misunderstanding over money matters.
It is also another way for one couple to go on a blind date. Perhaps the 1st couple’s mutual friends are being put together on a double and blind date. It makes things easier because you have a friend around if things get awkward.
If there are vehicles, try to get everyone to ride in the same one to have extra time for everyone to know each other. Give your date a brief introduction of the other couple before the meeting, or ask about the people you will be meeting so it won’t really be meeting a total stranger.
Double dates are almost always fun-filled adventures. Some might be dinner and take the date home thing. Usually there is an event involved, such as a circus, fair, amusement park, theatre, etc. Without going overboard and getting too wild, it is a good opportunity to be yourself and enjoy it thoroughly. This will put the two of you at ease around one another on the second date.
Going on a double date also gives your date the opportunity to get to know you through your friends. It might be a good idea to invite a couple that will say good things about you if you really like your date and you want to see them again. If you don’t think that your date would be suitable for you, instead of telling them directly, you can have your mutual friend break the news gently to the other party. It may seem very cowardly, but it saves the unpleasantness of telling someone you do not like them.
Take the double date like any other date. Be on your best behavior and leave a good impression. Whether or not a relationship comes out of a double date, it is a good way to bond with friends.
